When the NVA or VC went through a populated area, they used VC Chits to pay for the supplies and food requisitioned from the local inhabitants and farmers. The chits were worthless at the time but supposedly would be paid off if or when the NVA and VC won the war. These particular VC Chits were captured from the NVA in the area of Ha Thanh, about 8 miles west of FSB Hill 4-11, along the Song Tra Khuc River.
