Steven Knuboff was a medic assigned to Alpha Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Infantry, 11th Brigade, Americal Division during 1969 and 1970. In his last assignments with Alpha Company, Doc Knuboff was the medic for the Weapons Platoon and then the Command Post (CP). He was replaced by David Winder just a few days prior to a battle with the NVA on May 13, 1970, in which David Winder and Steven's close friends Edward Delikat, Allen Munson, and Richard Humphrey were killed in action (KIA).
