Owen Kenneth Harding 1946 - 2005

Owen Kenneth Harding, 59, of Muskogee, died Sunday, June 26, 2005, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born May 22, 1946, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Owen graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1968. He enlisted in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam and earning two Bronze Stars for distinguished service. He was honorably discharged in 1970 with the rank of First Lieutenant. He was a lifetime member of the DAV and an active member of the Hill 4-11 Vietnam Veterans Association. Owen was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Muskogee.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Marie Harding, his father, Joe Kenneth Harding ; and daughter, Ginnie Ann Harding. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cynthia Ann Harding, of Muskogee; his sister, Harriet Helene Harding, and husband, Major Greg Cleveland Corry of Muskogee; his son, Bryan Kenneth Harding, wife Amy Jolene Harding, and their son, Joe Kenneth Harding II of Muskogee; his daughter, Leslie Annie O'Connell and husband Richard Edmond O'Connell IV, of Stillwater.

A graveside military service will be conducted by the American Legion on Friday, July 1, at 1 p.m. at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, July 2, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of First Baptist church of Muskogee officiated by Rex Wilkinson.

The family would like to thank Hometown Hospice for their caring service, especially Christina Patterson, Stephanie Peak, and Glennetta Mayes.

Cremation Arrangements were under the direction of Muskogee Cremation Service.
