Here's an in-depth tour of D Battery, 6th Battalion, 11th Artillery on FSB Hill 4-11. D Battery consisted of six M102, 105mm howitzers. Using a maximum charge seven, the howitzers were capable of propelling a 35 pound projectile over seven miles. In addition to protecting the "Hill," the Battery's main mission was to provide fire support to the company units of the 3rd Battalion, 1st Infantry who were out on field operations.
This "Virtual Tour" was provided by Terry Copt, artilleryman, who was with D Battery from November, 1969 to December, 1970. These pictures were taken in early 1970.

A picture of Gun II taken during the morning after a busy night of fire missions. During that particular night, Terry and his gun crew fired 125 rounds as evidenced by the cardboard fibers piled up behind the gun and the dispensed shells to the right of the gun.
