After landing, the grunts made their way through the thick jungle, following stream beds whenever they could.  If you look closely, you can see two other grunts to the far left.

Sometimes they had to make their own trail through the thick growth, as shown here by PFC Greg Dumais.

Along the way, they stopped often so everyone could check for leeches.  Here's one that is fully stuffed.

After finding a garden with patches of food, Charlie Company knew they were getting close to their objective.  Here you can see tall stalks that have large roots like a sweet potato.  When boiled in water, they provided food for the enemy.

Very soon afterwards, they found the enemy base camp. Notice the cleared away jungle for growing food and the trail leading to the enemy base camp at the top.
