Richard Wayne Bridge was a communications specialist with HHC, 3rd Battalion, 1st Infantry from April 1969 to April 1970. Richard arrived on FSB 4-11 the day after SGT Lawrence Bertagna was killed in a recoiless rifle attack on the hill the night before.
Richard returned to FSB Hill 4-11 30 years later. In the picture below, it appears he is holding the remnants of a sandbag from the Commo bunker on FSB Hill 4-11. The "Horseshoe" area also appears to be in the background.
Richard died from an allergic reaction to an antibiotic on November 29, 2003. He lived in Lakewood, Ca.
