After the drums hit the gound and splattered napalm in the area, the S-3, in a LOH, flew down into the drop area and threw out a flare, igniting the napalm.  The road from Hill 4-11, as it winds around Tu My Village and toward Quang Ngai City, is in the foreground.

When the napalm burned, it created a huge, black cloud of smoke.  The LOH can be seen to the left of the smoke, and a Shark gunship is at the upper left of the cloud of smoke.

After the napalm burned off and exposed targets in the wooded areas, the Sharks flew low into the area and fired their rockets.  A Shark can be seen in action to the right.  During this part of the operation, a rocket hung up during one run and fired off late, as the Shark was leaving the drop zone.  The rocket hit near Tu My Village, injuring several civilians and water buffaloes.
